Scripting – extend your forms with your own code
Sometimes the familiar form fields are not enough – for example when a field needs special logic, should calculate values dynamically, or must react interactively to input. With linqi scripting you embed your own JavaScript code directly into a form field – either directly as inline code or from an external file. This way you extend your forms exactly where the standard fields reach their limits, without touching the process logic in the background.
Your script is loaded as soon as the form is opened and can interact with the form. Whether dynamic validations, complex calculations or custom displays: you extend the form the way you need it. As a mandator feature and with permission protection, you yourself control where scripting may be used at all.
Where standard fields reach their limits
The linqi scripting feature gives you a field in which you can load your own JavaScript code – either directly or from an external address. Your script is executed as soon as the form is opened and can work with the form and its values. This makes it possible to implement, for example, dynamic checks, complex calculations or individual displays that go beyond the standard fields. Since the feature is activated per mandator and protected by permissions, you keep full control over who and where scripting may be used.
Frequently asked questions about scripting
What can I do with scripting?
You extend individual form fields with your own JavaScript – for example for dynamic validations, additional calculations or interactive displays that go beyond the standard fields.
Can I use external scripts?
Yes. You can either paste your code directly into the field or load it from an external address – this way centrally maintained code can be reused.
Is scripting available to everyone?
No. Scripting is a mandator feature and additionally protected by permissions. You decide yourself where it may be used.
Does scripting affect the process logic?
No. Scripting extends the display and behaviour of form fields – the process logic in the background is not touched by your code.
