Map services – processes with location

Many processes revolve around places: a field worker who drives to a job, a delivery that goes to an address, a device that needs maintenance at a site, an incident that happens at a concrete point. linqi connects exactly this world with your processes via its map services: maps can be used as input fields in forms – with marker, address and coordinates – and as an element on dashboards, on which you map your processes as points at the locations of their run data. The maps understand both directions of geocoding: from an address to coordinates, and from coordinates to an address – so that everything that is location-related remains precisely locatable in linqi.

The map elements on the dashboard are made to make spatial relationships visible: you choose the processes that should be displayed, set the locations per run – via address or via latitude and longitude –, and linqi assembles the map from that. Color criteria and filter settings help to color the points by relevance and to narrow them down, and the default viewport makes sure that the map shows exactly the area that is relevant for your process. This turns the map into more than a decoration: it becomes the situation picture of your running processes – traceable, filterable and fed directly from the process data.

Or in short:Maps in forms and dashboards: capture locations, geocoding in both directions, and processes as a situation picture.

Location as input field

The map field in forms captures marker, address and coordinates – or resolves an address into coordinates.

Geocoding in both directions

From an address to coordinates, from coordinates to an address – done via configurable geocoder services.

Processes as situation picture

On the dashboard, your processes are displayed as points at the locations of their run data – colored, filterable, viewable.

From the address to the situation picture

Map services in linqi are not a single function, but run through the places where location data becomes relevant: the map field in the form, the map elements on the dashboard, the geocoding in both directions and the display as points with color criteria. In practice this means: a job is captured in the form with the destination, the address is resolved into coordinates, and on the dashboard the run appears as a point at exactly that place – colored by status, priority or region, depending on your criteria. Anyone who operates many location-related processes – field service, logistics, assets, incidents – gets a situation picture that feeds itself from the process data and requires no parallel maintenance in map tools.

How to use the map services

  1. Set up geocoding:
You configure the geocoder services that translate addresses into coordinates and coordinates into addresses.
  2. Capture locations:
In forms, the map fields capture marker, address and coordinates – individually or together.
  3. Map on the dashboard:
You choose the processes and locations for the map element and set the color criteria and filters.
  4. Evaluate the situation picture:
The map shows your running processes at their locations – colored and filtered, directly from the process data.

This turns every location-related process into a spatially traceable situation picture.
